Can anyone shed light on the media’s fixation with so-called “Black on Black” hom!cide? You wouldn’t know it by listening to the mainstream media, but Black on Black hom¡cide has actually dropped from a high of 94% in the 1990s to 91.3% in 2012. This may not seem significant, until you realize that White on White hom!cide has risen during the same period.
At one point in 2012, White on White Homicide was recorded at 88%, Black on Black remained steady at 91%. Each of these percentages is unacceptable. It should be a call to action…but it’s not.
“White on Black Murder: Who Really is Killing Whom?” he states the following: According to the most recent (2011) FBI statistics, of the 2,695 murders in which the victim was black, 91% were committed by people of the same race. Odds are if the victim was wearing a hoodie, the perp was too. The same pattern of intra-racial v¡olence holds for whites. 83 percent of white mµrders in 2011 were within-race killings, and only 14% were black on white. These data tell us that murder in America is decidedly not a matter of racial hatred.
By selling the black on white crime it diverts attention away from black on black crime to which the media darlings like Obama, Sharpton, and Jackson have no solution, nor do they really care. Guys like Sharpton get wealthy and get their own television show by race baiting and exploiting their own race for the mainstream media.
Is anyone making excuses for white on white or white on what ever crime? No white person with any class makes an excuse for white trash selling drugs, car jacking, robbing, killing or raping or name the crime.
The problem isn't the percentage of what the same race are per murder, honestly that's stupid methodology both ways. The problem is the fact that blacks make up 12% of the population in the US yet have over 50% of the murders. THAT'S the issue. There is something terribly wrong when the majority of the murders come from a pool of 39 million people...where as 270 million of the rest of the population actually has fewer murders. That..... is a problem.
not so. of the approx annual 18000 homicides --9000 are black on black. that means that 13% of the population commit 1/2 the murders.
and that cant be due to a judgemental stereotyping justice system-- bek there are bodies to be accounted for.
but your point is well taken. we should be outraged by all killing-- the color is secondary. but it is higher in the hood no doubt about it. but that does not make the rest of us look any better. we all need to own our own stuff.

What point exactly are you trying to make? That media has a fixation on black on black crime, and that fixation is misplaced? Or that blacks are over-represented when it comes to murder rates in the US?

its not about fixating aka talking about somebody elses stuff , its about all of us owning our own stuff. when we put the blame on others we dont get better we just get more angry.

no friend its about WHO is doing the killing. we need to look at that. that is who we need to talk about. dont excuse it dont pass the buck really look hard at it and it will get better. we dont need to look at their skin either we need to look at their behavior before during and after they murder people people dont just jump out of bed and start killing lots of stuff leads up to it, we need to look at that.

Saying that Blacks commit over half of murders in the United States understates the issue, because those are national figures. Whites are spread out all over the country. Blacks are concentrated in certain cities and in the South. Blacks are not 12 percent of the population in every region of America. This is something that people overlook when talking about the high Black crime rate.
In many large cities, Blacks commit over 90 percent of all murders. That is something that people really need to understand. Talking about the national rates actually downplays the severity of Black crime. It would be like including the murder rates from the Balkan Wars with Europe's overall murder rate for the same time frame while ignoring that most of all the murders took place in one region of Europe.
