I do agree with you with regard to placing yourself in a potentially bad situation when it is not necessary. I have always warned my kids about that.
Hey, it's the internet. Things are easily misunderstood.
Well goodness me! Common sense at last.
No one is saying this lady deserved to be attacked for just standing there. No one is saying the cop was in the least justified without being provoked by some action on her part. Chit happens, plan for it and act accordingly.
Yep, tell your daughter to hang around and watch while a line of cops in riot gear with batons are just three quick steps to the left.
Rights versus common sense nimtards, rights versus common sense. He who uses common sense has the ability to exercise his rights. What you choose to do versus what you advise your daughter to do should be two different things but hey, maybe I'm wrong when considering the macho internet Rambos on here
Shrug, my 4 daughters are over 18 they will decide for themselves.
For the brain dead among us, the girl was leaving the game and walking to her car. She wasn't part of the riot, but even if she had been the force used by the armored, armed bully cop was unwarranted.
Hang around the next time the animals go berserk and tell me how that worked out for you.
As allowed by law, I've been in many areas of unrest without incident.
And we've seen quite a few here. 2 Super Bowls, 2 Stanley Cups, DNC, national championships, you name it.
Since I was not doing anything illegal, there was no cause for police contact - just like this woman.
She had every right to flee the scene without being assaulted.
You seem to feel that she's responsible by merely being there.
She was doing exactly as you've suggested (leaving).

How do you know she was leaving. I have asked for links that suggest that. Is it another ASSumption or a WAG?

I'd read about this story elsewhere before commenting.
You seem to be the one making ASSumptions.
Most people have information before they comment. That has never stopped you.
Rather than bother w/ due diligence, all you've got is that ever-present "Gimme a link! Gimme a link!"
Google's a useful tool. You are not.
The most vocal supporters of the police state are left wingers.
The enemy of freedom of the people are those that would :
Try to put limits on and threaten to close down the internet and the exchange of information and public opinion.
Question the use of cameras and videotaping in the hands of ordinary citizens.
Would ever question the right of citizens to legally own and bear firearms.
