Who would not want a "smart gun" if it were as reliable and effective as a dumb gun? Having a smart gun eliminates the possibility of being shot with your own gun, and who would not want that?
Unfortunately smart guns are not yet as reliable and effective as dumb guns, which is why police always demand and receive exemption from smart gun legislation.
How un-American is this? This is another example why the founders wanted a president to be a natural born Citizen born within the United States boundries to two U.S. citizen parents to ensure sole allegiance to the United States and the Constitution provided to us by our patriotic founders. This example proves the putative president doesn't respect the Constitution or our citizens rights, especially the 2nd amendment. We need to elect constitutionally qualified people who are loyal to USA and who respect our constitution , history, culture, and values. Due to the putative presidents upbringing away from American soil, it alienated him from what it is to be an American, the exceptionalism and freedoms that go along with it. Anyway, this is a complete waste of taxpayers money used to infringe on our rights the founders provided for us.

It is unfortunate to see some democrats get sucked into the guns wedge non-issue. Some of them have this extreme fear of firearms that they really need to get over.
That is incorrect. The extreme fear is of the irresponsible owners (or how do children obtain their parents guns?) and the mentally ill wackos and teens who have remarkably easy access to guns. Gun owners need to get over their extreme paranoia of losing their weapons and their fear of going to the movies, restaurants, work or church sans guns. It seems incredibly cowardly to fear being unarmed for more than 5 minutes.

The Constitutions 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed or subverted in any manner. How hard is that not to understand?
Try walking into an NFL game or some other major sporting venue and tell the folks at the metal detector that you`re allowed to take your assault rifle into the game. Give them your best "shall not be infringed" speech. Let us know how that goes.
