Do you think the Pres doesn't make that much.

Do we need to send you Biden's tax return as well when he donated next to nothing for charity?

You must not understand the difference between earned income and net worth.

You're right, and it wouldn't work. When you pay property taxes, are people only paying taxes on their equity? Do you know how levered rich people are? It would not have the impact you think it would have.

What I do is spend...a lot (IMO)...my expense last year was about $750,000.

My well rig was about depreciated out so I bought a new one...that was about $600,000.

This all puts money in the economy and makes jobs.

I work on the idea that we are not taxed on what we make...we are taxed on what we keep.

It has worked well for me.....for about 25 years.
But in a philosophical sense, what would be "unjust" about paying taxes on what we use, not what we make or keep?

To me, that fit's right into the way most everything else works (when it's working properly). If I receive goods or services, I'd expect that I should pay for them. I go to the store for a gallon of milk... I should (and expect to) pay for it.

As far as taxing on what we make or what we keep... well, I don't really see the justification there. The way taxation works now, it seems more like a little boy in a sandbox with folded arms, sobbing and screaming that he is going to go home, and kicking sand in everyone else's faces because he doesn't have as many toys as the other kids. Who the hell decided he should have?

I decide what I should have.....and never understood why others don't do the same.

Yeah but he had lots of tax write offs for business expenses. A million bucks spent on a weekend in Florida, 60 million for a trip to Africa, 30 million to go to Hawaii....
