Washington has been conservative since long before the liberal Californian invasion.

Here is a clue tell people of color to start taking their primary and secondary school educations seriously.

Obviously doesn't include Asians of color.

I wonder how much howling we would hear if he said that about blacks or jews or any other group.

This was the strategy imposed by Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. When schools were segregated based on the fact that neighborhood districts in black areas had all black student bodies, and schools in white districts had white student bodies, it was implied that this was separate but, still equal because the teachers had the same college degrees, and the students used the same text books. Marshall disagreed though, and believed schools had to be desegregated with black students in the same class as white students. He believed black students needed to be influenced by white students in order to learn equally.

If you read WWU President's comments on the subject you would find that he is worried about who wants to go to college or more importantly for WWU, who wants to attend college at WWU. The future demographic changes appear to indicate that there will be fewer white applicants. Currently WWU is dependent on a declining demographic base. The president of WWU is concerned about who will replace the shrinking pool of applicants and what does WWU have to do to attract those students.

Recruit the Hispanics. We're being told they will become the majority.
Create some Hispanic themed majors and enlist LaRaza for advertisement.

I hope this has been pointed out in this thread hopefully repeatedly.

I admit I didn't read the link and have not read anything about the story. So I have no idea the actual intent of this campus administrator.

But it has to be pointe out that saying you want the school to be less white doesn't necessarily mean you want fewer white students.

For example, lets say the school has 100 total students and 80(80%) of those students are white and 20 students are not white.

Let's say you expect the school's enrollment to increase by 50 students which means the school will have 150 total students.

But lets say of the 150 total students, 100(66%) students are white and 50 students are not white.

Even though the school is less white, the school added white students.

At least they have a conscience and a motive to improve diversity and open the discussion. They provide research and statistical backing even if they are sheltered themselves I still respect their efforts.

This isn't "Obama's new world". I know you RWNJs have some weird fetish of blaming all of society's ills and wrongs on Obama, but this has been going on for decades : smack::rolleyes :
