It makes every marijuana user I know mellow. So mellow that while they're high they do practically nothing. I am incredulous that this guy actually had the motivation to do anything. He may have been on a combination of other drugs but I don't think pot alone made him do this.

There is no basis to assert that the "pot" consumed at some time prior to the incident was a cause of the face eating incident. Using your logic, users if marijuana should be given free access to firearms because they aren't going to hurt anyone. Maybe the pro-gun owner associations have it all wrong. They should get behind the legalization of marijuana for recreational use because it would reduce murders.
