Why doesn't your local college go for intelligence over diversity when it comes to selecting players for their football team that brings in millions for the school?

Ivy League Schools

If you DON'T have at a minimum of 3.75, don't even bother applying.
They attend one of the most prestigious prep schools in the country. I had a 4.0 or near it in high school without trying because I wasn't challenged and didn't have near the opportunities that I am sure these students do academically. A 3.7 at a school like that is nothing to scoff at.

Ivies tend to judge applicants based on a holistic metric, which comprises so much more than just SATs/ACTs and GPA scores. Don't get me wrong, GPA and standardized testing is very important, but as long as you score within their defined range you can be considered. What determines admission however in most instances, is your ability to really stand out. Perhaps by starting a successful non profit, speaking multiple languages, having extraordinary artistic abilities, being a gifted/published writer, etc. etc.
I tend to agree with this but in my experience they may not be in range. Some of my Black business classmates revealed their GMAT scores to me over time. A few were 100-150 below range, everyone finished successfully but the ones with low scores struggled. I know because I was the go to guy for them in stat classes.

"I had a 4.0 or near it in high school"

Based on your statement here, I don't believe you.

Someone with a 4.0 would have better reading comprehension then you do.

I can't find a single poster who has "scoffed" at the 3.7 GPA. And I KNOW I didn't.

You MAY want to go back and re-read the posting because you definatley DON"T know what the subject is about.
