Depends. Bush's policies of deregulation and war mongering are indeed to blame for the Great Recession. If Obamas policies directly lead to another recession then we can blame him.

Rough as the economy has been under Obama, each month gets a little but better. Can't throw blame at him for much yet.

Each month better? By now we should ALL be employed then. Show me the links, boy.

Need to extent to us boomers who are able to retire at 55. Its been 3 years now and work would only interfere with my retirement.

The GOP has sent quite a few job creating bills to the Senate, where Reid has tabled them.

We can't blame Obama for throwing away money on stimulus plans that didn't stimulate anything? What world are you living in?

The number goes up and down each month.

If you look even further back in history, you will see the same.

The Obama haters only focus on when a NEGATIVE number is reported.

Like you ... all they do is complain that the economy is not improving, and nothing is getting better.

Well ...what above the numbers in blue ? You know ... the POSITIVE numbers?

Here are more facts .... BOY!

This past month, we added 288,000 jobs. It was the biggest job gain in 2 years.

US Gains 288k Jobs, Most in 2 Years; Rate 6.3 Pct. - ABC News

If you look at the Unemployment Rates reported at this link:

Table A-15. Alternative measures of labor underutilization

you will see that the Unemployment Rate has CONSISTENTLY gone down, in all categories (U1 - U6).

The U3 number is the main one reported in the news.

Add to the above, that economists have been predicting the Labor Force Participation Rate would go down due to retiring Baby Boomers for a long time now.

Below is a report from 2005:

Monthly Labor Review - November 2005

Quote:
The baby boomers’ exit from the prime-aged workforce and their movement into older age groups will lower the overall labor force participation rate, leading to a slowdown in the growth of the labor force.

Has any retiree besides me noticed how many working age people they see out and about during the daytime? It's very noticeable how many people are not working these days. When I first retired all you would see are old people and mothers with small kids/babies in shopping carts. Not true these days.

I have and was initially surprised at the number.
I thought I'd see more retired folks out and about during working hours as well as SAHMs.

None of you have ever been able to explain to me what Bush deregulated that caused the Great Recession. Or how the wars caused it.

Except the trend is actually for people to work longer, not retire.

The young are leaving the labor force, the old are flocking to it

Because that "deregulation" happened under Clinton.
Repeal of Glass-Steagall let the banks do what they did in the 20's which lead to the Great Depression.
History repeats..it always does.
