From 1980 "to" the Clinton election, our economy was moving forward at warp speed. Clinton "tried" to screw up the forward motion with his tax crap and Hillary Care, but the Republicans stopped him and between the Republicans "forcing" Clinton to sign "welfare reform and a balanced budget" plus the dot-com boom the economy kept moving forward. Have no idea why people are still so ignorant today to give Clinton the credit for the great results that were a movement by Republicans during BC's last term.
Then, dot-com crashed a bit and on top of that we had 9/11 just a few months into Bush's term which slowed down the economy, Bush pushed tax cuts through and it was building back up when:

in 2006 the voters stupidly elected a majority of Democrats to the House and Senate. That started the economy downhill again, especially in light of the fact that President Bush sent his strong concerns to both houses that housing mortgage mess was inevitable if congress did not do something about Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac and the stupid laws requiring "all" mortgage lenders to lend to even those they knew could not afford a mortgage. But...Barney Frank, Chris Dobbs, Chuck Schumer, Maxine Waters along with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid plus others said "Oh, no, housing mortgage laws are just fine.
Surprise! They were wrong and Bush was right. Dems refusal to act brought us the 2007 crash and Barak Obama. What a mess.
Now, that's the facts! You can't "spin" the true facts.
Obama may be destroying businesses but the market loves the guy.
