I know nothing of the opponent, Mr. Crisco. However, the other night I tuned in to some show (Jon Stewart? or that guy that comes after him, the next David Letterman?) and saw that Clay was on. Perhaps that provided the 'bounce' he needed to make it such a close race.

He has been politically active since leaving American Idol, so it isn't that much of a surprise. I don't know much about his Primary opponent.

With that being said, he has little chance in a General This was a former competitive district, that was gerrymandered during redistricting to protect then Freshmen Republican (who is now running for her third term) Renee Elmers who won by less than 1 point in 2010.

Really this is no worse than all the folks that were calling for Ashleigh Judd to run so she could take on Mitch McConnell. All can take comfort in the fact that it is a Republican stronghold so it is unlikely he can win the whole thing. Although, stranger things have happened

How exactly does it prove your point ?

You have no idea whether he has been campaigning or not (he has just so you know), whether or not the people agree or disagree with his views.

I don't live in North Carolina so I don't care. Not my business whom they choose for representation.
