Ok and? Why only go back to Kennedy.

Of the top of my head(so I am not saying this is all the US presidents who were former US senators) Presidents who were former senators, Obama, Kennedy, Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Jackson, Van Buren, James Monroe, John Quincy Adams were all former senators. So we have a long tradition of elected Former US senators and former secretary of states to be president. Oh forgot Truman I think he was a senator as well.

They are probably just regurgitating what they are told in the universities by some of their professors and others. "We have to have Hillary for president in 2016 and that's all there is to it. Don't confuse me with the facts".

If you don't have any truth to your posts, don't post, it makes you look foolish when you're always wrong..

What a train wreck this forum will be in the next couple of years, lol!

Here ya go: Hillary Rodham Clinton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All of the positions held lend experience. Unlike any person (Obama included, which is why I supported her over Obama), she actually knows what the job entails, going IN to the position.

Attorney: "Not an accomplishment"? "Didn't actually practice as an attorney"? What do you think should be "accomplished" as an attorney? How do you folks think one "practices" as an attorney? You think you have to be in court like... what's that old dude on TV you guys could relate to from "back in the good old days".... Columbo?

She did serve on Wal-Mart's Board, which one would think Red State America would appreciate. She was also named a "top 100 influential lawyer" TWICE by a respected legal publication that (unlike you fine folks at City-Data) actually have experience and expertise to judge the legal field at the time. Perhaps if you're truly interested you can track down those publications and read why.

First Lady: Pretty much known to be an agenda setting, take charge First Lady. Again, more active than "Let's read to children even though my husband can barely read" Laura Bush. Or even, "fight the fatties" Michelle Obama (lord knows how many of you conservatives are offended by THAT effort and take it as a personal affront, lol)

Senator: Two term Senator from the second most populated State in America. Opposing the Bush tax cuts in a time of war was the #1 best thing she did.

Secretary of State: Her #1 role was reversing the damage that Republican foreign policy and George Bush II had wrought in the world. And yes, even in Russia, before Putin came back to power in 2012, US-Russia relationships had improved.

And sorry, to the dim bulbs above who think "Hillary is not admired," you are once again conflating YOUR feelings with that of "the rest of the world."

Hillary Clinton: The ‘Most Admired Woman’ in the world

Her world (and US) approval rating has consistently been very high. And yes, things like that matter. It matters when other world leaders and their people actually LIKE the US, when the US has an agenda it wants to forward. It matters a lot.

You Republicans forget that the world GROANS when a Republican President is in power, because they do.not.like.you. Well, maybe not everyone. Maybe Israel gets happy, and Middle East terrorists, because they know recruiting season will be easier.

Now, let's turn the topic back on Republicans:

What did Ronald Reagan accomplish before becoming President? Yeah yeah, he was governor and did an amazing job in "Bedtime for Bonzo," but the guy didn't ACCOMPLISH anything, right? And let's not even get started on George Bush II! What did he ACCOMPLISH?
Good to see you agree with the rest of us, she is a coniving loser who has accomplished noting of value, with the exception of all the bodies she left in her wake..
Those that admire her are fools who wish to see obama's destruction of our country completed.

The future of the Republic? These are University kids folks, Lord help us!

PJTV Correspondent Michelle Fields talks with young Hillary Clinton supporters at George Washington University about her possible run for the White House in 2016.

Because JFK was the last non-VP/non-Gov to be elected POTUS before the current error.

An unbroken string after 1960 which precedes the voting record of everyone reading this thread who was born since 1940. Anyone here over 75 years of age, please speak up if you want your ancient history mingled with our current events. It's been a prerequisite as long as the rest of us have been voting, perhaps even breathing.

After JFK ,
we had VP LBJ,
followed by VP Nixon,
followed by VP Ford (unelected),
followed by Gov Carter,
followed by Gov Reagan,
followed by VP Bush,
followed by Gov Clinton,
followed by Gov Bush,
followed by the inexperienced mistake.

Executive experience, as either Vice President or as Governor, has been the preference of the voters for most of our lifetimes, until the current amateur with the thin resume.

A mistake we should not repeat with someone like Hillary or McCain. Unless someone wants Biden or Cheney, we need to return to looking among our governors for experience and success.

It appears the route they will be taking. Forget about everything else first woman president will gin up the liberals. Nothing else will matter. Of course they have a couple years to get the army marching.
