Want to provide the Democrats cover from their disastrous health care law? No problem, just bribe the insurance companies with billions of tax payer dollars to keep the rates artificially low for 3 years. I mean, what's a few billion more after you've already spent $1.5 billion on websites?

Quote:
The Obama administration has quietly adjusted key provisions of its signature healthcare law to potentially make billions of additional taxpayer dollars available to the insurance industry if companies providing coverage through the Affordable Care Act lose money. . .

But the change in regulations essentially provides insurers with another backup: If they keep rate increases modest over the next couple of years but lose money, the administration will tap federal funds as needed to cover shortfalls.
Obama has denied for months that there was a bailout for insurance companies, and the whole time, they were working to put in place an even bigger bailout. He is such a liar.

To quote Pelosi..."Whatever it takes"

Obamacare is his legacy. It's going to be a success even if it takes government paying the insurers and dropping most of the items in the law.

LOL..the history books won't be so kind as to gloss over all this.

The bailout was build into the law. It was written by the insurance industry to begin with. You think they would take on this type of risk without guaranteed safety from loss ? The banks did it and the insurance industry followed suit.

And why shouldn't Obama tell the public there is no bailout? Not like many Americans are going to bother reading the bill or understand what's in it.

If something has the name "Obama" attached to it, it was likely conceived out of deceit, and will never work worth a damn.

Barack Obama: More inept than Carter, more corrupt than Nixon.

THAT, along with the incompetence that is known as "Obamacare", will be his legacy.

that depends on who writes the history books when this comes up. if it is a conservative, then yes obama will look very bad, if it is a liberal however, obama will look like a genius, and depending on what happens will be praised for making it work, or the right will be excoriated for interfering with something that would have worked given a chance.

Given a chance? He changes the law daily, delaying it, throwing tons of tax payer dollars at it. If I keep a company afloat for 5 years by lying and going into billions of dollars of debt, I didn't save the company. I just kept the scheme going for a few more years.
This is like Enron. If Enron could have stolen billions of tax payer dollars, they would have been in business longer too. Instead, some of their top officers went to jail for lying and stealing.

Not just NO, but F*CK NO. Obama and his minions passed this poorly planned law and were unwilling to listen to any input from the adults. Here's an idea....since it seems that only Dems pushed for and strongly support this cluster-how about a special tax on registered Dems to pay for it?

re read what i wrote. i am not talking about today, nor am i talking about reality. what i said was if a liberal wrote the history of what was going on today, obama would look like genius, and if things turn out badly, then the liberals will say if only obama had a chance to let things work without conservative interference, things would have turned out great.

You'll never see elected officials or government employees held to the same standards of integrity and accountability as those in private business. Government is a home for the incompetent and corrupt.

There are many tales of history out there.
The whitewashed ones make it into the schools though as only Nixon was dinged and even then in a mild fashion.

Outside of K-12 though is where true history is told with both the good and bad.
Sadly not enough Americans read history after they leave school.

The Civil War, for example, was much more than what was taught in K-12.
The Kennedy administration was full of battles between the President and the Pentagon.
And what the US did with the Indians as we settled the US was deplorable.
