Stephen A. Smith: Not Every Single Issue Is About Race | Video | RealClearPolitics
"Stephen A Smith[Stephen A Smith is a sellout. Stephen A Smith is an Uncle Tom. Stephen A Smith isn't black. You ain't one of us. These are the kind of things that were said to me yesterday."

He is channeling MLK Jr, Bill Cosby, and Juan Williams. A lowly basketball analyst has made one of he most significant contributions towards advancing the American Dream in our time.

He didn't blame whitey for everything, even if he is very successful, so nobody will care.

Did anyone bother to watch the entire clip? I did. His comments were empowering and spoke of where he came from and how he worked hard to get to his current position in life. He challenged his community to do the same thing. Sorry, I do not see it as a rant. People are afraid of the truth so they attack the messenger.

I hate to break it to you, but that is part of the problem.... He speaks of hard work, busting your hump, etc. He isn't calling for reparations or blaming white people. He had a message of personal responsibility. All these things go against the beliefs of many liberals and race hustlers.

I heard him on the show "First Take" and his comments were spot on. Basically he was saying that you have to be a realist and you can't go placing all the blame on whites without blacks taking on some responsibility. I don't always agree with Stephen A. Smith but he hit this one out of the park. I really like the part in which he said he bears a responsibility to the black community whenever he comes to work. It is not a burden his white counterparts have to carry. His point is he understands it may not be right but it is what it is and you can't proceed forward while ignoring this. The clip is really worth watching because the bother was being honest.

I usually can't stand SAS. That was great. Thanks for sharing. I have a new respect for him. I always took him for a sensationalist hack.

He's right, but the vast majority of blacks don't see things the way he does.

apparently, you hadnt heard of Stephan A. Smith before today because he is very left of Center.

What is more likely is that you have a unrealistic image of Liberals as lazy, and when one speaks up and says the opposite of what you believe, it blows your mind. Im sure there is a Joker meme for that somewhere.
