Good riddance where America is concerned. Not that the next one will be any better, but I digress.

Sure isn't easy working for a pathological liar.

This is unusual. Did his conscience finally get to him?

Was "We only learned about the VA problems from today's news reports" the straw that broke the camel's back?

Not that it matters. Plenty more camels where he came from. Paid liars are a dime a dozen.

it's not an easy job to have to lie virtually every day, no matter how good the pay is.

it must get tiring.

I guess he got tired of trying to keep all his lies straight while talking to the press and covering for his incompetent boss.

Maybe, but I doubt it.

I'll bet one thing he thought about was the fact that he still needs to earn a paycheck going forward. He was a journalist himself before taking that post. After all the time he spent obfuscating and stonewalling his former colleagues it's easy to imagine that he was starting to look at the fact that sooner or later he was going to have to get back into their world and he was rapidly losing his reputation. Reports are that even left wing journalists were starting to get frustrated with him.
