FWIW the recession started in 2007 and the market crashed in 2008.

Min wage was last raised in 2009.

How you can state that it caused the recession is totally beyond me. But you did.
So you admit that the minimum wage increase had nothing to do with the recession and unemployment would have gone up regardless.

We're talking about the PRICE of technology. As the price comes down and human labor goes up you will hit a sweet spot where technology becomes cheaper to use.

So those 10,000 robots that Amazon is going to deploy in their warehouse are replacing higher paid workers ?
Those order/pay kiosks in McDonalds are replacing higher paid workers ?

LOL..no H1B and total offshoring is replacing higher paid workers.

It depends on the technology and how easy and convenient it is. That is more important than just cost of technology. Also, those jobs that make well above minimum wage have more to worry about than minimum wage jobs when it comes to being replaced by technology.

No, I got it, you implied something and I called you out on it, and now you are pretending you didn't say what you were implying. I never said the minimum wage increase caused the recession, you are the one who implied that.

You're talking like it's still in the design phase.

It's real and implemented and deployed today.
Amazon bought out that robot company last year and already tested it in one warehouse.
10,000 will be deployed to the other warehouses by the end of this year.

Will it eliminate all human employees ? No, but it will eliminate a good deal of them.

Chili's and Panera Bread have joined the likes of Applebee's in using tech now.

Not surprised, it is no different than the auto industry, cars use to be built by middle class blue collar workers until technology advanced and make it easier to build cars with robots. How many people in Amazon's warehouse make minimum wage?

Sure, but minimum wage, meant to "help" the un/low skilled among us, actually speeds up their race to obsolescence. Go the grocery store. There are fewer employees than 20 years ago. Go to an office building and look for a typing/secretarial pool. Hell, Amazon is doing its level best to eliminate the brick and mortar retailer entirely, and now they are trying to eliminate the physical portion of distribution? Look at the number of people employed in farming and manufacturing now vs 50 years ago, and then compare employment levels to output and capacity utilization. With all those lost jobs, who do you think went first...all the folks at the top end of the skill set, or the ones at the bottom?

I work in IT. Technology is our best pal and worst enemy. The successful in my world know this and adapt to it. The folks who get outsourced, eliminated, etc...they sat back and let it happen. Sure, we do have things other than minimum wage to worry about, but those are all market forces that are often beyond control. Minimum wage laws are perfectly within our control, and we do more harm with them than good, period, the end.

Keep trying to "defeat" an immutable law of the universe. You'll never succeed, but it's good for lulz to watch you try.

And where are Amazon's warehouses? Here is a hint, they aren't in Seattle.
