There seems to be a huge disconnect between gun owners and anti gun people when it comes to firearm related polls or surveys.
If you were asked to participate in a survey or poll either in person, by phone or whatever about firearms in your home would you be honest?
There is no disconnect. Far fewer homes own guns than ever before. This is a polling trend that is decades old. Basically one would have to make the insane case that people who answered polls about owning guns in the 1960's were less likely to lie about owning a gun than people in the 1970's.
And that people in the 1970's who answered polls about owning guns were less likely to lie about owning a gun than people in the 1980's, and that people in the 1980's who answered polls about owning guns were less likely then people in the 1990's, and that people you should get the point.
As usual the conservative argument has no basis in reality or rational thought.

Maybe.
We all just know what is in our own lives.
In our area most have many guns.......I do not know anyone that doesn't.

If I get a phone call at my house, I'm hanging up and not answering. Answering such a survey would be as smart as giving a random caller your credit card number or banking info. If there is an on-line pole that I can chose to answer randomly (not an email solicitation aimed at me) or if I'm asked on the street, yes, I'd answering honestly.
The number of people with concealled carry permits (as well as states permitting legal concealled carry) has increased rapidly in the last 10 years. One of the few places where being "progressive" is actually a good thing. This is bringing a lot of new gun owners "into the fold", especially for handun owners.

I'd never tell anyone if I have a weapon or not.
Let them in their criminal minds, underestimate me...
