"I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis."
Al Gore

"That, of course, entails getting loads of media coverage. So we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified, dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we might have."
Stephen Schneider, Stanford Univ., environmentalist

It is no secret that a lot of climate-change research is subject to opinion, that climate models sometimes disagree even on the signs of the future changes (e.g. drier vs. wetter future climate). The problem is, only sensational exaggeration makes the kind of story that will get politicians’ — and readers’ — attention. So, yes, climate scientists might exaggerate, but in today’s world, this is the only way to assure any political action and thus more federal financing to reduce the scientific uncertainty."
Monika Kopacz, atmospheric scientist

“Rather than seeing models as describing literal truth, we ought to see them as convenient fictions which try to provide something useful.”
David Frame, climate modeler, Oxford University

Wealth Redistribution
"We redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy...Basically it's a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization...One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore."
Ottmar Edenhoffer, high level UN-IPCC official

"In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill....All these dangers are caused by human intervention....and thus the “real enemy, then, is humanity itself....believe humanity requires a common motivation, namely a common adversary in order to realize world government. It does not matter if this common enemy is “a real one or….one invented for the purpose."
Club of Rome

“No matter if the science is all phoney, there are collateral environmental benefits.... climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world.”
Christine Stewart, former Canadian Environment Minister

“We’ve got to ride the global-warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.”
Timothy Wirth, U.S./UN functionary, former elected Democrat Senator

"A global climate treaty must be implemented even if there is no scientific evidence to back the greenhouse effect."
Richard Benedik, former U.S./UN bureaucrat

“A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States...De-development means bringing our economic system (especially patterns of consumption) into line with the realities of ecology and the global resource situation...Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided for every human being."
John Holdren, President Obama's science czar

One World Governemnt, led or influenced strongly by UN
"The objective, clearly enunciated by the leaders of UNCED, is to bring about a change in the present system of independent nations. The future is to be World Government with central planning by the United Nations. Fear of environmental crises - whether real or not - is expected to lead to – compliance”
Dixy Lee Ray, former liberal Democrat governor of State of Washington, U.S.

"The emerging 'environmentalization' of our civilization and the need for vigorous action in the interest of the entire global community will inevitably have multiple political consequences. Perhaps the most important of them will be a gradual change in the status of the United Nations. Inevitably, it must assume some aspects of a world government."
Mikhail Gorbachev,former leader of U.S.S.R.

"Government in the future will be based upon . . . a supreme office of the biosphere. The office will comprise specially trained philosopher/ecologists. These guardians will either rule themselves or advise an authoritarian government of policies based on their ecological training and philosophical sensitivities. These guardians will be specially trained for the task."
David Shearman, an IPCC Assessor for 3rd and 4th climate change reports

"Regionalism must precede globalism. We foresee a seamless system of governance from local communities, individual states, regional unions and up through to the United Nations itself."
UN's Commission on Global Governance

Skeptical Scientists and others
"Unfortunately, the IPCC climate change documents do not provide an objective assessment of the earth's temperature trends and associated climate change….As one of the invited expert reviewers for the 2007 IPCC documents, I have pointed out the flawed review process used by the IPCC scientists in one of my letters. I have also pointed out in my letter that an increasing number of scientists are now questioning the hypothesis of Greenhouse gas induced warming of the earth's surface and suggesting a stronger impact of solar variability and large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns on the observed temperature increase than previously believed."
Madhav L. Khandekar, UN scientist, a retired Environment Canada scientist

“In Europe, where climate change absolutism is at its strongest, the quasi-religion of greenery in general and the climate change issue in particular have filled the vacuum of organised religion, with reasoned questioning of its mantras regarded as a form of blasphemy.”
Nigel Lawson, former Chancellor of the Exchequer of UK

“I had the privilege of being fired by Al Gore, since I refused to go along with his alarmism....I have spent a long research career studying physics that is closely related to the greenhouse effect....Fears about man-made global warming are unwarranted and are not based on good science. The earth's climate is changing now, as it always has. There is no evidence that the changes differ in any qualitative way from those of the past.”
Will Harper, Princeton University physicist, former Director of Energy Research at the Department of Energy

“Global warming is indeed a scam, perpetrated by scientists with vested interests, but in need of crash courses in geology, logic and the philosophy of science.”
Martin Keeley, geology scientist

"The only thing to worry about is the damage that can be done by worrying. Why are some scientists worried? Perhaps because they feel that to stop worrying may mean to stop being paid."
George Kukla, climatologist, research scientist with the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University

“Governmental officials are currently casting trillions down huge rat hole to solve a problem which doesn’t exist....Packs of rats wait in that [rat] hole to reap trillions coming down it to fill advocates pockets....The money we are about to spend on drastically reducing carbon dioxide will line the pockets of the environmentalists....some politicians are standing in line to fill their pockets with kick back money for large grants to the environmental experts....In case you haven’t noticed, it is an expanding profit-making industry, growing in proportion to the horror warnings by government officials and former vice-presidents.”
Tom McElmurry, meteorologist, former tornado forecaster in Severe Weather Service

“The suppression of scientific evidence that contradicts the causal link between human-generated CO2 and climate has been of great concern to ethical scientists both here in Australia and around the world....The eco-hysteria that leads the Greens, as well as the left-leaning media, to attack any person who attempts to publish science that contradicts their beliefs is a gross example of the dangerous doctrine that the end justifies the means.”
Art Raiche, former chief research scientist, Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization

"It is easier to silence scientific dissent by utilizing the politics of personal destruction, than to actually debate them on the merits of their arguments. That should tell you something about the global warming debate...there is none right now....it's either you believe, or you are to be discredited."
Mike Thompson, Chief Meteorologist of Kansas City news station, former U.S. Navy meteorologist

“Scientists and activists alike have jumped on the [global warming] bandwagon. It’s become a fad, a trend, a wave of enthusiasm and the scientists are going along with the fad to get research grants and the media limelight....The facts, such as we can observe and calculate them, do not support the idea of man-made global warming. Natural processes completely eclipse anything that man can accomplish- a minor rainstorm expends more energy than a large nuclear explosive releases and the lowest category of hurricane expends more energy than all of the nuclear weapons ever produced in a short time.”
William Hunt, research scientist National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, served as a wildlife biologist and a geologist

"In point of fact, the hypothesis that solar variability and not human activity is warming the oceans goes a long way to explain the puzzling idea that the Earth's surface may be warming while the atmosphere is not. The GHG (greenhouse gas) hypothesis does not do this....The public is not well served by this constant drumbeat of false alarms fed by computer models manipulated by advocates."
David Wojick, UN IPCC expert reviewer, co-founded the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie-Mellon University

Great post! Too bad I can't rep you again.

It is crystal clear that those embracing "global warming" are in direct opposition to the sound principles of science and are simply cult members who are interested in advancing an agenda, regardless of the truth.

Lets take a gander at who is funding it, Fund for Innovative Climate and Energy Research (created by Bill Gates) ($100,000)

Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation ($150,000)

Many others are listed here Berkeley Earth Any credibility you alarmists have is pretty much zero!

In this case the argument is people from YOUR own camp saying some rather unfortunate things, for you and your ilk.

Right on brother!

From just two days ago.

Have the deniers explain why the West Antartic Ice Sheet is collapsing!

A new study by researchers at the University of Texas, Austin found that the West Antarctic Ice Sheet is collapsing....
//Sarcasm Off

Only thing left to do is laugh at the globull warmists because they have been wrong on every single prediction they have made over the past 30 years. Let me repeat that, EVERY SINGLE PREDICTION THEY HAVE MADE DIDN'T COME TRUE, NOT A ONE.

Actually, no, my opinion is not given to me by right wing blogs, nor am I a right winger.
It's not "all or nothing" or black and white. I don't discount AGW or climate science. I am however skeptical of the alarmism, the cult like attempt to shut down and silence debate and how many policy makers and politicians are using this issue as a pretext for activism or wealth redistribution. I am also skeptical that climate science and the computer models can accurately understand and predict the climate.
I do however see the need to study the climate, to reduce pollution and find alternative energy.
I would accept a scientist's research over your skeptical opinion.

Thanks for two great links...

From the first..

CALL me a converted skeptic. Three years ago I identified problems in previous climate studies that, in my mind, threw doubt on the very existence of global warming. Last year, following an intensive research effort involving a dozen scientists, I concluded that global warming was real and that the prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m now going a step further: Humans are almost entirely the cause.
From the second...

Berkeley Earth has just released analysis of land-surface temperature records going back 250 years, about 100 years further than previous studies. The analysis shows that the rise in average world land temperature globe is approximately 1.5 degrees C in the past 250 years, and about 0.9 degrees in the past 50 years.

It's funny you completely ignored who the funders are. The proof/facts are like kryptonite to you alarmists.

The fact that your breitbart site is still talking about Climategate years after the right's claims were shown to be lies proves that it's worthless. So what you really meant was "according to right-wing denialists who continue to accuse scientists of fraud long after their accusations were shown to be garbage, Climate McCarthyism claims another victim".

The desperation of right-wing denialists is so pathetic.

So true, at this point it is just funny watching the Flat Earth Society people try to deny, deny, deny even though research doesn't back up their beliefs that nothing is going on and the climate hasn't changed one bit.
