From the Daily Beast - "There’s a battle raging inside the Obama administration about whether the United States ought to push away from its goal of toppling Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and into a de facto alliance with the Damascus regime to fight ISIS and other Sunni extremists in the region." Obama Admin Debates Whether Assad Really Must Go - The Daily Beast

The consequences of Smart Power - what a nice little clusterfrack Obama has helped create. Image partnering with Iran to help prop up Syria to fight ISIS. We have a real genius in the WH. I'll bet he wishes he hadn't been so quick to help topple Hosni Mubarak and Muammar al-Gaddafi.

Or Saddam Hussein...oh wait. Cons will still defend that one.

It's all part of the bigger plan..8 countries in 5 years.
And we're running behind because eliminating Saddam in Iraq wasn't supposed to take this long.

The U.S. needs to stay out of those countries. This monster of the ISIS is a largely American creation. Weapons provided to extremists in Libya have found their way to Syria and now Iraq. Providing weapons directly to extremists in Syria has now resulted in those weapons being used against Iraqi soldiers wielding American provided weapons in Iraq......talk about a tangled mess.

There was never any real "moderate" movement in Syria except for the early beginning stages of the revolt. Since then you've had extremists co-opting the moderate groups and now we've in essence helped to create a "United Nations of Terror" group that has drawn fighters to Syria from every single point on the globe.

It's time to simply back the truck up and get the funk out. Stop arming these extremists under the guise of helping a moderate movement that doesn't exist anymore. Tell McCain to go look into retirement or perhaps a lobotomy. Make sure he takes Graham with him, particularly if he opts for the lobotomy. Have Obama spend more time playing golf and Kerry spend more time getting manicures because he hasn't helped the situation in Iraq one bit and he's essentially throwing a strong U.S. ally in the Kurdish right under the bus.

They put a Republican in the WH and we went to war in the ME.
They put a Democrat in the WH and we went to war in the ME.

All our enemies were once our allies that we trained and funded.
Even Osama bin Laden himself was a product of US meddling.

And the MIC hums along fat, dumb, and happy while the country continues its downward spiral. If only we'd get the chance to put a devout non-interventionist in the WH.

Hussein was gone in a matter of months if not weeks. Regime change happened. If Iraq had WMD's, they don't any more. We won !!!

JFK's assassination put an end to any true politician that cared about what the American people need or want.

You had both Ross Perot and Ron Paul. Drastic..sure but neither are part of the inner circle.

Our Presidents are selected, not elected these days.

Boy again, Happy Texan, you nailed it. People select also base on popularity, popular also with the lame ass media. Truly not elected these days, base on things that ought to matter. But someone sounding damn good, and has a good bill of sale, which Obama does have. But nothing more.
