LOL...........tell that to the grand puba. It's funny watching the obama legion tripping over themselves trying to defend their great leader lately. There is no defense........just spinning. Maybe that is the problem they are all dizzy?

It was "too cold" for Americans to go out and buy stuff.
That's the reason folks..the "Consumer" stayed home and cratered the GDP because of it.

Economy shrank 2.9% in 1Q, worst drop since '09

No kidding!

They cheered, cried, and clapped like trained seals when in '08 Obama said Bush was '"irresponsible and unpatriotic" for running up $4 trillion in debt over eight years, and the same clapping seals applaud Obama for running up over $5 trillion in four years.

they pilloried bush for gasoline prices of $2.50/gal, and are silent when we are stuck at $3.50/gal under Obama.

The ridiculed Bush for 5% unemployment, and applaud 7% under Obama.

The pummeled Bush for 4% growth, and now they excuse Obama for -3%

They are nothing but empty-minded, trained, barking seals.

The economy has been propped up by cheap money from the Fed and assorted games to make things look good. That crashing GDP is a reflection of reality peaking its head out from under the piles of debt that have been used to paper over the Great Recession.

Remember, there are still a horrible number of people out of work, despite our leadership's attempts to define them away, and the only jobs growing are ones with lousy wages - no other class of jobs has even returned to its Pre-Recession numbers, much less grown since then.

This is partly Obama's fault - and partly the fault of Bush and our worthless Congress (both parties), as well as the faults of every greedy, crooked corporate executive who happily sent thousands of jobs overseas so he can buy a bigger yacht. It's also the fault of every corporate apologist and sock-puppet out there who will gladly justify the gutting of our nation and the destruction of the middle and working class if it means his stock options go up by a penny per share this quarter.
Can't rep you again, but ^^^^^ this.

I'm the first person to argue with someone blaming Obama for everything down to lost socks in the dryer, because it's so damn stupid, but that doesn't mean I don't blame him and other Dems as much as I do Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan and the GOP for the longterm loss of jobs.

i'm old enough to remember when companies actually gave a crap about their workers because they know that a strong middle class and a consumer class was good for the company.

No such thing anymore. Corporate and human greed, NAFTA and the willing collusion of all politicians in sucking the life out of America have killed that concept, probably for good.

We made good money unthawing frozen pipes....replacing jet pumps.....winter is hard on equipment.

Mechanics did well.

The definition of a recession is 2 consecutive quarters of negative growth. The "Bush recession" has come and gone-as Obama has told us we have been in a recovery for his entire first term. Now...next month, when data comes out for the second quarter, will be interesting. Negative growth will have "officially" make it the "Obama recession". For the sake of our country I hope that isn't the case.
