A SWAT team blew a hole in my 2-year-old son (UPDATE) - Salon.com

A family of 6 moved in with the husband's sister outside of Atlanta after their house burned down. They were all sleeping in the same room when a SWAT team broke down the door, and tossed a flashbang grenade that landed in the baby's crib. Then they barged in w/ M-16 rifles, and searched for drugs. They found none. They were looking for the sister in law's son, who did not live at the house.

Quote:
I heard my baby wailing and asked one of the officers to let me hold him. He screamed at me to sit down and shut up and blocked my view, so I couldn’t see my son. I could see a singed crib. And I could see a pool of blood. The officers yelled at me to calm down and told me my son was fine, that he’d just lost a tooth. It was only hours later when they finally let us drive to the hospital that we found out Bou Bou [baby's nickname] was in the intensive burn unit and that he’d been placed into a medically induced coma.
She says the kid still has a hole in his chest where his ribs are exposed.
I am unable to make any comment about these jack booted pigs that would not be bleeped out.

Unfortunate that this child must suffer due to the choices of his relatives.

Really?
Nothing wrong with a military style raid on a home where someone doesn't even live.

Get real.

They should just serve warrants like they did on Adam 12.

I'm pro law enforcement, but I question the necessity of a
paramilitary raid to nab a low level meth dealer.
Especially, relying on the word of some informant.

"You can't make an omelet without scrambling a few eggs." - Obama admin official when informed that at least one Border Patrol agent had been murdered with a gun they had allowed to be taken to Mexico in the Fast & Furious scandal.

Might he say the same thing about this baby?

Not sure what Obama has to do with this story at all.

Harrier would have attended to the baby - if the cops want to shoot a person holding a baby, then at least Harrier would have died knowing he did everything he could to defend the baby from the lowlife thugs with badges.

Cops are pigs.

For any cops who are honest and don't want to be broad brushed, get out from behind the blue line, and quit defending the scum.

Uphold your oath.

According to the Guardian's write up of the ACLU's report on the increasing use of military tactics by local police swat teams, that happened a couple of years ago in Lima, Ohio to a woman holding her 14 month old baby. The baby was injured, but survived.
