Harrier doesn't have to say anything - The Atlantic article said it all.
Oh, no, you're not getting off that easy. We all know exactly what you're trying to say by pulling out that particular quote while ignoring what the author points out about the factors that led preceding immigrant groups to favor sports other than soccer during the post-Civil War era. Let me spell this out: Legal immigrants are real Americans regardless of the foods they eat, languages they speak, and/or the sports they watch. End of story. Ann Coulter is a major beyotch with a raging inferiority complex to imply otherwise. And that's coming from a white Anglo-American whose ancestors fought for independence in the Revolutionary War and who is also listening to the Germany-Algeria game as I type this post.

The point is that no one argues whether baseball is a real sport while the World Series is being played.
Because people who don't bother with watching the World Series, don't feel the need to argue the validity of it as a sport either(I haven't watched more than a few innings of the World Series in years.). Unlike people who take issue with soccer...
People who don't follow baseball just shut up and move on to other things.
I don't understand why people who hate soccer get so obsessed with it.
The point is that no one argues whether baseball is a real sport while the World Series is being played.
Because people who don't care about baseball don't go on rants saying it isn't a sport.
