I say again, why would anyone want to work as a border patrol officer when our nation's government doesn't want to enforce our nation's immigration laws and secure our southern border? I wonder what would happen if every border patrol officer along the southern border just quit.
There are many people that want to work for the Boarder Patrol. You might not see too many conservatives working there because many want to be patriots from their homes and Monday morning quarterback.

The Obama administration has been having a wonderful time, ignoring the country's immigration laws and allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to walk into the country without any of the usual background checks, medical exams, etc. normally required for every immigrant by our long-established laws.
Laws requiring medical examiations of every immigrantt, have been in place for more than a century, and for good reason: Many diseases that have been controlled or eradicated in the U.S., are still virulent and uncontrolled in other countries.
Suddenly bringing in large numbers of people exposed to those diseases, which can range from scabies to polio to TB and worse, runs a very real risk of their breaking out and spreading like wildfire in our population.
OK. So you must also think that any American out of the country for, say, two weeks, needs a thorough medical exam before being allowed back in?
I am aware of no analysis that indicates illegals constitute a substantial risk.
Some risk is inherent in any human population. But I don't see a substantial risk.
I would think the good arguments against illegals are societal and economic. And I believe those arguments to be very powerful and in fact carry the day. The invsion of the illegals should never have been allowed and those who did so should be roundly condemned. Start with Reagan et al.
But that does not modify where we are and the fix to the problem almost certainly involves, at a minimum, legalization of a vast portion of the illegals.
Health and security issues are simply right wing fantasies.
The fact that even you call them illegals automatically makes the a risk , they are illegal
Who ever said I wanted to apply? I'm an engineer by trade so patrolling the boarder isn't really in my career field.
Do you think anyone would want a job where the employer will turn in a heartbeat and be on the side of the criminal they were being paid to guard against????

The job is immensely popular in many border areas. So that must mean the employer does not change sides? Or that border crossers are not criminal? Or both?
