Yep, now we are "required" to pay ridiculous insurance rates so we can fund the leeches having more babies who they'll teach to become leaches.
I thought liberalism was about choices? Oh that's as long as it's having sex with who ever or whatever you want. That's only if you don't want to defend yourself against criminals. We MUST .. MUST PAY for the people who are either too lazy or too dumb and lazy.
The real issue here, is that insurance is about risk, not providing services.
Insurance - REAL insurance, is about paying someone to carry a risk for you. You pay for car insurance, because you probably can't pay for the harm you could cause someone else. An accident on your part could easily rack up 200 to 500 thousand in bills and lost wages. So, you pay for an insurer to carry a SPECIFIC risk for you. Since the chances of you doing that are relatively small, if you're a safe driver, the premium isn't bad.
But if your car insurance was supposed to pay for oil changes, tire balancing, car washes, tune-ups, and details every 6 months, car insurance would astronomically expensive.
Life itself is an unending parade of risks. Getting up in the morning could be fatal or even a serious injury. It does happen, even if the risk is very, very small.
So, you must balance risk vs cost in your life. I don't have insurance because the risk vs cost is not to my advantage. If I have a heart attack or cancer, or some other extremely expensive thing, I'll probably just die. But I'm going to die anyway, sometime, the risk of that is 100%. The only question is when. Do I spend my life working to pay for someone to shield me from massive financial risk, when that massive financial investment is a huge risk, with small chance of reward? The vast majority of cancers are fatal, as are most of the catastrophic events.
I could afford that kind of catastrophic insurance, that covers only those things, and manage the rest of my medical expenses like I do every other need. But it's now illegal, since politicians decided THEY, not I, must make my choices for me.
Lots of good points and I agree with your line of thinking very much.
The same part you consider my point to be a lie, I consider yours to be a lie. Kind of hard to have a conversation when you accuse others for lying.
You said:
Quote:
Ah yes, you are in the "healthcare for only those that can afford it" camp.
I said that was a lie.
You claimed THAT was a lie.
What I said was specific. And it was in response to what you said I wanted.
I am the ONLY expert on what I want. So, again, explain to me how you did not lie. If you contradict me on what I say I want, I AM the authority on that, so, you're wrong.
Knowing that you'd be wrong, you still said it, which means YOU LIED.

So, now explain yourself.
Oh like a good conservative, you are not willing to admit that healthcare insurance should only be for those that can afford it. Therefore, I was telling the truth and you are the one who is lying.

You lie yet again.

Now you say
Quote:
" healthcare insurance should only be for those that can afford it."
Notice that shift between "healthcare" and "healthcare insurance"?
Again, everything about your argument is dishonest and deliberately so.
I pay for my own insurance kiddo, I probably cover part of yours too.
Does this mean if I sent you my bill, you'd pay part of it for me?
