ThinkProgress, which the daily caller describes as being owned by "the Center for American Progress, is populated with numerous veterans of the Clinton and Obama administrations" published a story about conservative Michele Bachmann that turned out to be completely fabricated.
Someone created a phony website "KCTV 7" and an equally phony interview of beautiful Michele Bachmannn. Liberal websites including ThinkProgress, DailyKos, and Crooks and Liars all fell for the hoax, as did liberal posters on CD. https://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ids-labor.html
An old maxim from the world of flim-flam states that "you can't cheat an honest man."
...and ??
It's exactly the kind of thing she would say, and therefore believable.
Drudge report, however, fell for the story that dogs in Montreal have to be bilingual. How believable is THAT?
Why is it that the war on women seems to be coming more from the left than the right? Palin, Bachmann, Haley, and all conservative females are open season.
Hold on--what are the comments that have been made about Haley?
There are plenty of respected Republican women--such as Haley, Condi Rice, Mary Matalin, etc.
But playing the sexist card with Palin, Bachman or Christine O'Donnell is ridiculous--they are an embarrassment to intelligent women (including intelligent Republican women).
Why is it that the war on women seems to be coming more from the left than the right? Palin, Bachmann, Haley, and all conservative females are open season.
It's not a war on females - just on female conservative politicians who say dumb ****. And the key part to the equation is "conservative", not "female."
The new approach from sites like ThinkProgress is, if it comports with our beliefs, it's true.
There is another maxim-- "if the shoe fits"...
As for liberal sites, give me a break. Ridiculous twisted articles from Breitbart, Newsmax, and the Daily whatevers are posted here every day as truth.
Hardly the first time something like this has happened unfortunately:
"A Fox News correspondent has been busted again for pushing a one-sided story claiming religious persecution of Christians . . . Todd Starnes helped promote a story about a California first-grader who allegedly was not allowed to give a one-minute presentation about her family’s Christmas tradition because it included religious references. Other targets of Starnes’ poorly sourced reporting have reported similar harassment."
Why would anyone question crazy when it comes to Bachman?
we had a lot of people here yesterday from both sides of the political spectrum believe the report was accurate ( unfortunately the thread has been deleted ).
which brings up an interesting point...... bachmann may have an excellent case for libel/slander ( not sure which covers a blog ) against the new yorker. thanks to the donald trump v bill maher "orangutan spawn" case i've learned that satire is protected only as long as a "reasonable person" believes that it's obvious that the story couldn't be true. that doesn't seem to be the case here.
ThinkPregress is the one demonstrated to be crazy here. We can debate Michele Bachmann on another thread, but this really has nothing to do with her. She had nothing to do with anything in this scenario. This about ThinkProgress, liberals, and their gullibility.
