Bush did not overreach like this pres has. He at least went to congress and was granted bi partisan approval for going to war. The liberals talked impeachment all the time, many a bumper sticker we saw with Impeach Bush on their beater, environmentally toxic vehicles. I do think it would be political suicide to impeach the current pres however. Let him rule as he sees fit.
In What way has president Obama over reached ????
Also The Constitution says the President is commander in Chief of the armed forces and can send them where ever he pleases.
War, as you put it, is not simply troops, but an economic condition for the entire country, allowing congress and the president to nationalize resources, ration food and so on. Bush did not go to congress for permission to go to war.

"I have said it before and I will say it again: Impeachment is off the table,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said during a news conference." (November 2006, right before she became Speaker of the House)

We do need to rein in the executive branch, because each successive president is expanding the power and authority to the executive branch, and Obama been more brazen then anyone before him. We need to halt this before we end up with a fascist dictator in the White House.
If, as she says. Democrats never tried to impeach Bush, it is probably for the same reason that Republicans will never try to impeach Obama. On the Republican side Cheney would take over and that scared the Democrats right out of their pants. On the Democratic side, it would leave Biden as president, an equally scary thought.
You are missing the entire point of this thread.
Sheila Jackson Lee, surely one of the dumbest people in Congress ever, doesn't remember that she was the co-sponsor of a bill to impeach George W. Bush.
She's even dumber than that congressman who was concerned that sending US troops to Guam would cause the island to tip over and capsize.
