Only fools would believe a promise of more "free" stuff for less money.
Just goes to show that America is full of these fools.

It's because those younger men are more likely to you their car insurance policy than younger women?
Last I checked, it was necessary for a man and woman to engage in unprotected sex to create pregnancy.

Young males typically pay higher rates than young female drivers. How insurance typically works is you are charged based on a combination of your own record and that of your demographic group on age and sex. Typically women pay more for health insurance but less for life insurance and auto insurance. If insurance typically worked the way you seem to believe there would be little demand, even from the left, for Obamacare.

A "free" good increases demand for that good. In a market where supply is restricted, i.e. healthcare, prices will increase.

It is my understanding that most states require uninsured driver insurance for this reason. The responsible and insured party pays more to offset the risk he will be involved in an accident caused by an uninsured driver/auto.

Florida's Biggest Obamacare Insurer Hiking Premiums Over 17 Percent | The Daily Caller
I love it when extremists post articles that actually contradict what they are tryng to be outraged about.

They said it would bring down costs "over time." Of course to people who believe in magical thinking, that would be a few months. They've been on an upward trajectory for 30 years. It may take more than a few months.

"Next year will mark the fourth consecutive year Florida Blue has increased premiums by an average of at least 11 percent for people under 65 who buy coverage on their own. Florida Blue increased rates an average of 16.5 percent in 2014, 16 percent in 2013 and 11.5 percent in 2012, the company said."

How Quickly Are Health Insurance Premiums Rising? | The Rundown | PBS NewsHour

"Prior to the Affordable Care Act, insurance in the individual market kept costs down by turning the away the sick, raising prices on the likely-to-get-sick, and offering, in many cases, pretty stingy benefits."

That's quite a simplistic view, Texan. I'm sure you're aware that a typical ER visit is around $1000 while a typical office visit is around $300. The only fools are those who don't comprehend this simple arithmetic.

I said that during the big campaign to win over support.

The promises were made to the masses..you'll get more "free" services and pay less.
And all this via insurance. Not one change to the actual cost of care or drugs.

Those town hall meetings were akin to the snake oil salesmen of history selling their magic elixirs that would cure all ailments.

It is basic economics. It really should not even be up for debate. You insure the previously uninsurable costs will go up.
