Obama's policies place the US in danger of not being able to defend its own interests:

Our interests are right here in the United States....And they're defended just fine.

I'm constantly amazed at how conservatives want to stick our nose in everything around the world. Stop wasting my tax dollars on everything around the world.

That article is well written scare tactic for the MIC. Like spending gobs of more money will ensure the U S will never have a terrorist attack. Why would we want to prepare for 2 and a half wars? Like Iraq and Afghanistan were a rousing success. I agree we have plenty to protect the continental U S.

Well ^ curious given the 2014 QDR is all about making the bipartisan case for DoD spending, not policy.

" Funding levels requested by the President for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 will allow the military to protect and advance US interests and fulfill the updated defense strategy- but with increased levels of risk for some missions. The Department can manage these risks under the President's FY 2015 Budget plan, but the risks would grow significantly if sequestered- level cuts return in FY 2016 if proposed reforms are not accepted, or if uncertainty over budget levels continues."

Is it possible if the US had not had serious decades of protecting and advancing its own interests, the world might have been a more peaceful place?

...so you want to spend more on the military. How about you ante up the money for that. I think we're running enough deficits as it is.

I'm all for returning to the Draft and requiring all to give three to four years of their time to serve in the military instead of paying for others to do it. Let all of us have a stake in protecting our national interests and homeland.

What amazes me is they'll run screaming SOCIALISM! in terror at the mere mention of buying a Band-Aid for an American yet have NO problem sending our military halfway around the world to fight for and build infrastructure for other people.

Except the last time we had a draft it was used for reasons having NOTHING to do "protecting our national interests and homeland".

You can fight the terrorist groups in other counties....or, fight them here in time.

Either way is good with me.....I do not live near anything worth bombing......and can get out of the USA id needed.
