Taxes are an expense passed onto the consumer, they are never profit.

The fact you won;t spend the money on a pair of Red Wings is the only deciding factor they care about.

Your refusal to recognize that there are less costly made in America alternatives to your Redwings belies your objectivity.

It's not going to upset me if your position on corporatism is consistent, though. Mine will be, also.

Your just dumb to think that spin is going to work, agreed we the consumer and taxpayer pays for tax breaks and we will pay for taking them away too. But why is the consumer paying? It isn't like paying the taxes are not covered by the profits? Heres the kicker. The consumer will pay in rising costs because CEOs and Stockholders are entitled to make millions and billions in profits. We see this everyday, first thing cut employee wages and benefits, then jobs. Everything else gets cut but there stockholder and CEOs pay. Enough already. Instead of paying your CEO double figure million dollar packages. Maybe cut 3 or 4 million and PAY YOUR EMPLOYESS AND TAXES! Just like we scream about the lazy poor welfare people, this is just the same laziness only manifested in a different way. Whats even more insulating is most of the CEOs and Stockholders won't pay income taxes.
I am a stockholder in several major US corporations.
Guess what.. I pay taxes on income from distributions of those stocks.
I am not wealthy. I am a typical stock holder in the US. I rely on the dividends and distribution from sales to provide an income that I am no longer able to earn, due to age and physical condition. I will not go on welfare. Without this income, I starve when I retire. Yet you see fit to take even more of my finances away. It's acceptable to you to have me live in abstract poverty to offset your liabilities.. Good of you.

Varies. I have a pair of Magellans from Academy Sports right now. I can't find a "made in" statement on them anywhere.

You don't even know... If those boots were Made in the USA they would have emblazoned on the tongue "Made in the USA", for $49.99 which is the most expensive expensive Magellan shoe I can find on that site I can assure you they are not made in the USA.

Isn't it hypocritical to fault a company for making their product overseas when you're the one driving the demand?

Help yourself, if that's your preference.

As is your preference to scream about "buy American" but you should know that there's still about half the planet that will be going through a transformation out of a basic agrarian economy into all the economic steps you've already gone through. Your screaming will evolve (sneakers) and the entire time the prices for everything will increase as demand increases due to them finally getting all the things you take for granted.

The race to the bottom? What do you have against the rest of the planet enjoying the things you already have?

Do you believe little defense fairies appear in the middle of the night sprinkling $$$ upon it?

Or do you just prefer to avert your eyes when the theft from others supports your agenda?
