The point of a child having a phone, is to make sure you can contact them, or they can contact you in the case of an emergency. Obviously you can take the child's phone away, but then they won't have a phone. This is the same concept as taking the phone away, without taking away their ability to make emergency calls.
And what did all of the children do before there were cell phones?

My kids would never ignore my calls. Sorry, this says a lot about parenting. If you need an app to parent then you are doing something wrong.
