Read this, and you will know why Common Core is bad for your children. Common Core is about "dumbing down" high achievers to the level of low achievers.

Moreover, the "close reading" methodology actually stifles the development of critical thinking skills by disallowing any answers to questions (and regarding them as 'wrong') that may be based on a child's prior knowledge of a subject.

This article only addresses the Common Core reading standards. Have you seen the "new math?" How they expect children to learn math by the convoluted methodology for solving math problems that make no sense even to adults is beyond comprehension.

As noted in the article:
According to the Common Core State Standards initiative website, one of the goals of the CCSS is to produce workers (the emphasis is mine) in the global economy, and that the development of CCSS was driven by a concern over the deficit of highly-skilled workers in America. We are told that CCSS aim to improve the achievement levels and test scores of all students regardless of their background, and that every student should be held to the same rigorous standards of success. However, when looking closely at some aspects of CCSS, one can’t help but be cynical and wonder what the endgame really is. The “close reading” strategy is just one of many examples.

"Workers" a term I hate for it's socialist connotation. We want "workers," not entrepreneurs or future leaders. Only a select 'elite' class are to be leaders, and they will decide the needs of society.

This is the direction "Progressives" are taking our country. It is an America that our Founders never envisioned. Our Founder's vision was an America where everyone could rise to their highest potential, and achieve whatever they dreamed. This is how America grew to be the richest, most powerful nation on earth, with the highest standard of living. This is what the "Progressives" hate, and seek to destroy.

The liberals believe themselves entitled to control you for your own good according to their dictates.
