I can buy 100 bottles of 80 proof rum or vodka and get inebriated for 200 days in a row for the price of an once of high grade Colorado weed.. something wrong with that picture
You can buy 80 proof rum and vodka for $2 a 750 ML bottle? You must be drunk.

Where are you buying a bottle of rum for $3-4? I don't think rotgut booze to primo bud is a fair comparison.

Well, the issue is not that the picture is wrong in reality...the picture is just wrong in that posters head. It doesn't matter the quality of either since they obviously don't know crap about either. Ignorance makes some people outspoken and ornery about things where it would be better if they just shut their holes and didn't prove themselves to be idiots.

If they were smart enough to do that, would they still be idiots?
I've wondered about the classification of idiotness for some time, but have come to no satisfactory conclusion.
Back on-topic, while I understand why some people get so wound up about gay marriage and who is or is not a liberal, it totally mystifies me why pot evokes the same response. Especially from people who drink alcohol or smoke tobacco. Obviously it's emotional, but I really don't get why. I think I am engaging in a discussion about the effects and problems of implementing a new law, and find myself facing otherwise reasonably sensible people grasping at straws and spluttering "but, but, but".
Edited to add - there's an emotional resonance I know I'm missing, but I don't know where it is coming from.
It seems they collected less that third of what they thought. Why am I not surprised?
Voters legalized retail marijuana (pot for everyone, not just medical patients) in 2012. And they were told the state wouldpull in $33.5 million from two new taxes in the first six months of 2014. It turns out, the projections were way off.
This is what you get when you over-tax products. The truth is that we can never get rid of drug-use if we don’t get rid of government. Now these people can use drugs and get socialized health care. Disgusting – get rid of socialized healthcare and the druggies would be gone from the streets. The legalization of drugs is right but only if the welfare state is reduced in the same time. Drug-use would go down to a minimum because no one would help them.
