Well, that's what Obama said. So now we have over 1,000 military in Iraq.

He also said:

Quote:
With international help, Obama said, it’s possible to shrink ISIS “to the point where it’s a manageable problem.”
Obama: 'Justice Will Be Served' on ISIS for U.S. Journalist's Killing

What does "manageable problem" mean? At what point was it determined that they were "unmanageable"? ISIS has been in operation in Iraq and Syria for the past 3+ years, except they didn't go by the name of ISIS, or IS, or ISIL.

Why doesn't the US evacuate the Americans at the embassy? Who's decision was it to keep them there? The American Embassy in Egypt was evacuated because of protests, yet we leave Americans in the midst of a she-at storm?

Obama's possible international coalition:

Quote:
U.S. officials said Wednesday that Britain and Australia were potential candidates to include in the new coalition, as well as Turkey, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Germany. The coalition would most likely include countries that could help quell the ISIS threat not only militarily, but also by cutting off aid or ramping up efforts to secure border crossings.

Out of all the countries that could possibly join the U.S. in fighting ISIS, Saudi Arabia is one of the most important and most likely to contribute funds and weapons, analysts have said.
So none of these countries are going to put boots on the ground, just funding and contributing weapons? We know how well funding and arming worked out. Pretty much got Syria and Iraq where they are today.

In the meantime while countries are "debating":

Quote:
As the U.S. and other Western governments continue to debate how to intervene in Syria, ISIS is advancing in northern Aleppo, taking suburban towns close to the Turkish border crossing of Bab al-Salama.
