Again, not even close.

The original argument was that if government didn't decide who could do what, then every large company would be a garden variety scam.

I pointed out that if you're going to risk millions upon millions of your own dollars to make something, and you want to make a PROFIT, you will have to stay in business a LONG time. And longevity and garden variety scamming don't exist in the same place.

Your argument about the scooters and medicare and insurance, was that government OFFERED to buy people scooters without much evidence that you needed one.

And, seeing as how insurance is the worst possible way to pay for something, the prices for those are inflated drastically, just as all insurance paid things are inflated. Basically, the goverment created something that was an invitation to exploit. And some, who were already in the business, took advantage of it. And some, who thought they did everything by the book, got smacked because the government said "we say this, and when you conform, we punish you because we MEANT that..."
