Good for you. More people need to learn their rights and stand up for them.

What insults? Are Texas streets with people carrying rifles and guns more similar to streets of London, Paris or Berlin or rather to the streets of Mogadishu and Tikrit?

Id rather stay in new york where I can have both my freedom and safety, without arming my family with guns. I leave that to the poor souls in Somalia and Texas.
But yet you admit there are areas where you live that are Not safe, so I guess the true way to express your situation is you are willing to give up some of your freedom for some possible gain in safety. That is is your choice, thankfully there are parts of the Nation that are not willing to give up any of their Freedoms to maybe gain a little more safety. Keep in mind that once Freedom is lost it is very hard to get back, no matter what some may promise. Once again that comes as no surprise that such ideas are coming from a Northeastern Yankee, and so long as you keep your ideology in your part of the Nation many of us do not care, try forcing your ideology on the rest of the Nation through Federal laws and then we will have a serious problem.

It was a demonstration, was that too complicated for you or did seeing those evil guns slung across peoples back just make your blood boil. I bet you believe we are all still riding around on horses and covered wagons and fighting off the Wild Injuns. Those days are gone but we did retain a few things from the past, we still love our Freedoms and we felt it was very important to keep our spine intact.

Obviously we have several submissive people here that are more than willing to do as they are told problem is they are also the same people that insist that everyone else submit along with them. That is NOT going to happen.
