I nearly went through the same thing about 6 years or so ago. I am legal guardian for a Chronic Paranoid Schizophrenic. He was sleeping on a hillside in a park just enjoying the sunshine. Someone called the cops on him. A neighbor called me and i drove and stopped outside the park over 500 ft away from them with my back to them while sitting in my truck. A NAZI looking cop showed up in a Paddy Wagon and wasn't even noticing me as anyone doing anything wrong. I waved the cop down and told him i wasn't sure but i think i was the guys Guardian. The low life Nazi Kansas City cop screamed at me get out of here or you go to jail also. As i started to drive off he yelled at me WAIT! He went and talked to the other two cops and they motioned me to come to them. The two cops on scene were straight up and arrested him on a bogus warrant from two years before when he wasn't even in this town at all.
There are good cops and bad cops. They sure treated me different than the judge that granted me Guardianship told me they would.
As i said he wasn't here at all. I know for a fact because he was in the mental hospital i committed him to, completely in another state. By the way. A judge kicked him loose about the next day or so.
sounds to me like you had a false arrest case against the cops.
Do you actually think that a CHRONIC PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC would actually walk into a courtroom, after he had been beat up by every jurisdiction around here? Sorry i guess i forgot to mention that part. After you get beat with a club etc several time you catch on that the cops don't want you in their jurisdiction.
cops are not human, they are trained from day 1 to take control over the situation , even if you are right, they are not going to listen, they have to take control, even if that means busting some heads, you will submit to the cops no matter what.

If the warrant was bogus, that is not the fault of the cops, that would be the fault of the court system. Cops do not set warrants.
