Serious question.

All it takes is two Americans wandering into a warzone for us to get ready to spill American blood. This is insane. I mean no disrespect to the victims of the beheadings, but we need to be rational. America cannot protect its citizens in other countries; especially in the Middle East. We shouldn't negotiate with terrorists, nor should we declare war over them. This is ludicrous.

I agree.

What is even the point of having nukes if we can't use them.

Because of politics and vested interests.

ISIS is about psychological warfare.. nothing more; nothing less. Then we are going to arm more people over there as a solution. Just feeding the military industrial complex.

Then the said armed people will use our guns against us. I think we've done this before.

Why would you even ask that question? We shouldn't declare war over terrorists? What kind of a thing is that to say? Exactly how powerful are you going to allow the terrorists to get before you're ready to do something about them? First they were just a ragtag bunch of ruffians training in some desert base and you didn't want to do anything. Then they were attacking cities in Iraq that we'd already spent blood on and you didn't want to do anything. Now they control enough territory that they could form an entire nation and you don't want to do anything.

Have you ever heard of World War 2? At each and every step Hitler took people screamed about it and everyone else did nothing. Instead of squashing him like a bug in the beginning, it ended up taking a years long continental war killing tens of millions of people to defeat him.

You are doing the exact same thing right now that the idiots did in 1938.

When exactly do you plan to stop the terrorists? Do you think if you do nothing they'll just go away? What is your thought process for how the future goes with ISIS if we do nothing? They put their guns away and start baking cookies?

Because Americans are reactionary creatures...

ISIS wants war with us--that's why they'd publicize killing a couple journalists to provoke us--and Americans are of course going to fall for it.

Not worth trying to explain when you have people who think like the ones who have posted so far.
Those people are coming for your wives and daughters. It will be your head hanging on a stick very soon if they aren't stopped now, where they are. They plan to take over the world, not just the sand where they are now.
Perhaps you suggest a beer summit would b e better, that way they can drink your been while they hack off your brainless melons...
