Then there was the great leaded gas crisis. And of course lead paint, asbestos, PCBs, DDT, you name it. You could make a list a mile long of things the leftists have forced us to ban that we all got along with for years.
YEAH! WHAT the hell were people thinking banning things like asbestos and PCBs?

Nothing like an Agent Orange cocktail after work and some fine mineral fibers in your lungs for the cancer to grow around, eh?

I think people who champion that we shouldn't have banned these toxic chemicals ate too much lead paint as a child.

Hmmm, how many accounts do you have here? Interesting, think I will have to have a discussion with someone on that, just so you know where it came form, buddy.
What part about how laws are created do you not comprehend? Contrary to your misinformed belief, Presidents do not enact laws, Congress does. You should seriously consider taking a course in basic civics.

That must have been an awful time for the right. Republicans listening to scientists and considering the results of actions is anathema to the modern right-winger, who thinks the purpose of policy should be to make them feel good.

The bigger question is how much more environmental impact is there for manufacturing a new car than continue using the coolant?

It's kind of like spending $30k on a new car to boost your mileage from 23 to 32 and using the gas savings to justify the $30k.

"Sure I spent $30k on a new car, but I'll be saving $1500 over the next three years in gas savings."

It's called "liberalism creep." First they hated Freon, so the replacement became R-134A. Now they hate the replacement.

It's just like their outrage over paper bags. The horror of cutting down trees was more than they could bear. So the replacement became plastic bags. Now they hate the replacement and are actively seeking "plastic bag taxes" all across the country to curb usage.

What else will they hate next?

Liberals do nothing good for this country. Ever. Because they're never happy.

But the cost of repairing the AC unit will be more than the car. That's why I went with more expensive AC coils in my home units that work with my existing freon and will work with the new coolant when my compressor fails.

Last year, freon was about $90/lb. This year it was about $150/lb. By next year they were estimating $200 to $300/lb and the cost to recharge my units would have been the same as getting my coils replaced. Yes, I'm still using freon but it was saved during the coil swap out.

Not so! The way right-wingers whine and cry about liberals entertains me to no end. Do continue.
