There have been many over the centuries and decades, but now I refer to the Republicans who use the "Southern strategy" of demonizing blacks, including the President, as their enemy. And those idiots fall for it every time.

LBJ's "Great Society" was about a LOT more than civil and voting rights.

Still, as a Black man, LBJ had some benefits for me. Such as, Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act.

But "no" in that it's not ethical. And not a new concept.

That quote sums it up. Keep the working class fighting, and the powerful can rule with all impunity.

Nobody said anything about civil rights or voting rights. The unAmerican thing that he did was creating the welfare state.

One has to remember when you decide to ignore the minority or even a region that there are consequences. For example; we now have Obama pushing a big federal government in US. But he says the reason for Iraq's problems is ignoring the minorities .Basically he is saying one needs to respect and allow for regional;cultural and religious differences. Our founding fathers realized this in writing the constitution in granting states so many rights to control. What is happening in Iraq is in fact happening in USA.
