Boy,13, arrested for hitting cop with stolen car in Colorado, cops say - CBS News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Police say a 13-year-old Colorado boy stole his parents' car, ran over an officer's leg and rammed three patrol cars before being struck with a stun gun and arrested.
CBS affiliate KREX reports Sgt. Derek Rosales was treated for ankle injuries and released after the pursuit in Grand Junction on Tuesday. The 13-year-old is facing four charges, including second-degree assault on a peace officer. The suspect's name is being withheld because of his age.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports an officer shot the boy with a Taser as police tried to remove him from the car. He was evaluated at a hospital and taken to a juvenile jail. Authorities say charges are pending.

"The officers exercised great restraint in dealing with this very dangerous situation and we are grateful, not only that Sgt. Rosales is expected to recover from his injuries, but that no one else was hurt," said a statement released by Grand Junction Police Chief John Camper, according to the station
