I would never vote for a Republican.

Democrats are not anything to write home about either, but it really is a lesser of two evils.

Several are now incarcerated, the others are taxing the state into oblivion and bankrupting middle class citizens with insane property taxes to give equally insane pay and benefits to union state and municipal employees in order to buy their support for re-election with the money stolen from hard working Americans and businesses. As far as I am concerned the Democrats are evil or at the very least a collection of criminals and incompetents. They disgust me.

Yep because no Illinois Republican has every been corrupt or been sent to jail. Oh wait...

This is such a bad choice because Quinn capitulates to Madigan and Rauner will be completely ineffective. It's actually sad that the Republican Party in IL is in its current state that Rauner was the best they could come up with.

My prediction is that Rauner will likely win thanks to his ability to wear some Carhartt jacket and convince people that he's an Everyman. His 'shake up Springfield' mantra will probably get some regulations rolled back that will likely end up paddding his own already thick pockets, but beyond that he will be politically castrated by the legislature.

If we really want change in IL, it's Madigan that needs to go.

I think Rauner could be analogous to Chris Christie in NJ. Christie hasn't been able to do much about the tax situation other than prevent it for getting any worse. He's at least managed to halt the downward spiral. I think that is probably the best Rauner can do in Illinois. I just know that with the Dummycraps continuing to have complete control of the state that spiral will continue and accelerate.

I will be voting for Rauner. It will be the first time a vote for a Republican for Governor. Same for my wife. While I think Quinn is well intentioned, he is completely ineffective.

Rauner is a shady rich businessman that will waste and throw away millions of dollars in bad investments for the state. He also wont be able to get anything done with Michael Madigan incharge.
Those ads are sheer hatchet jobs targeting people who know nothing about what a private equity firm is or does.

This is how we elect so many bad people in this state...too many people that think like this.

I agree. Rauner will make the wealthy, wealthier, at the expense of everyone else. I'll vote Quinn.
