Lets not forget the vast majority of goods sent to a war zone are delivered via the Navy. Everything from tanks to ammo to fresh troops. Lets also not forget the combat missions flown by naval aviators. The escort ships that protect the carriers and cargo ships. The US Navy has a huge roll in any conflict.
My brother in law is in the Navy, just 2 years shy of retiring. During the first Gulf War he was on the ship as part of the flight crew. He was the crazy guy standing on deck landing the planes, lol. That is a very dangerous job! Until recently he was on the ground in Iraq. Before his unit was sent to Iraq, they went through intense urban warfare training. He was sent to the front lines in Feb. Two months ago he was injured in Iraq and is back in the states trying to recover. His 3rd brain surgery is on Wednesday, so please think of him this week and all the other soldiers like him who fought over there and are now home fighting to survive.
