"If you can convince the lowest white man that he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll even empty his pockets for you." -Lyndon B. Johnson

It sounds like Republicans were taking notes.

Yes-it's why so many poor whites vote against their own interests and often are nothing more than useful idiots for nationless corporations and global banks that have pillaged the wealth of our nation.

Divide and distract is the mantra.

LBJ will go down in history as being largely repsonsible for the end of our hegemoney, and perhaps even our eventual financial collapse.

Here's the context:

In 1960, when asked his reaction to signs in the crowd , along his motorcade , projecting stark racial hate, LBJ said:

" I'll tell you what's at the bottom of it. If you can convince the lowest white man that he's better than the best colored man............"

That's probably right--his "Great Society" crap was ruinous to this country in more ways than one.

He was definitely a politician's politician--and a reprehensible ultraliberal scumbag.

Meaning ... ? What?

It is Democrats that have been picking our pockets for decades, while Republicans have reduced taxes. So, what are you talking about?
