It makes perfect sense if the intent is to create an Ebola epidemic in America and impose martial law.

My thoughts exactly.

And don't even get me started on how stupid I think it is for us to send 4000 troops into the conditions in Liberia, to "fight" Ebola. What are they going to fight it with - rocket propelled HazMat suits? Goggle launchers?

I'd rather use all that VAST budget to fund some volunteer civilian humanitarian aid and save our troop power for what they do best - warfare against nefarious PEOPLE, not viruses.

And speaking of budget - while we're volunteering thousands and thousands of our young people, and millions of our tax dollars - to the effort, why don't we demand some international support, starting in Europe, which is the veritable gateway to west Africa and which has at least as much to lose as we do.

Just give Obama a mop, and tell him to get to it.

Ebola is unprecedented, epic and crosses branches of international, federal, state, county and municipal governments.

The guy is an administrator and that is the skill set that's required , right now. MDs are generally not known for having strong administrative skills within a hospital or medical practice enviornment, let alone something like this.

Perhaps the military is preoccupied with other international issues, right now.

Just what we need , another democratic talking head to keep the Ebola virus at bay. Can't get any better because we have a political wacko as a president. Obama thinks power to the democratic party and to hell with the people. This country is going down the tubes. Americans interest is not on the list to what is important to Obama. His allegiance is power to him only.

You think having no health care administrative experience at all is good though? I think at least a basic understanding of how to manage health care issues would be a necessary and welcome thing but it appears, at first blush, this guy got this position solely based upon politics. There should be things that transcend politics and a potential public health crisis should be one of those things.

Texas governor Perry's office just announced he has appointed a state Ebola Czar/ task force.

The governor has cut his trip in Poland short and returned to Texas.

Perry has reversed his previous position on flight bans, whatever that means.

He intends to impose enforceable control orders to limit those who have potentially been exposed from interacting with the general population and traveling.

Here we go, now they are monitoring 3 people in PA

But, they are not being quarantined? I swear our leaders have completely lost it? And they refuse to learn from the past, when this all started...??????

What we are seeing are American vulnerabilities. We have the State Police shooter, in PA, that has eluded 1000 of our best for over one month. Our authorities have technology, dogs and specially trained units and have come up empty handed. We have the situation with ISIS where we use our air power and technology to contain them and they still advance. We have a White house that had the recent runner. Now we have Ebola and everybody is saying to stay calm and we have it under control - what control? This is just the tip of the iceberg - it is just starting.

We cannot always blame the patient for getting exposed. I can picture how that can quickly backfire on any system. Who wants to risk their lives and then get blamed by the people they tried to save? That not only goes for nurses and doctors; it also goes for our military and police. We have to protect our people on the front line and we have to minimize our exposure.
