No argument here. In a country as large and diverse as the US, with many different regions where even the dialect is different, you really can't have a one size fits all government.

Why should I living in Ohio have policies from California (for example) be forced on me? What works there, doesn't mean it's going to work here.
There are a number of interstate laws that are needed in this country. Do you ever vacation outside of Ohio? You would want those same rights to transfer from state to state.

True, but if something works in one place there is nothing to say it will not work in another, maybe a few tweeks are all that is needed. But of-course since no specific topic has been specified we are talking in as wide of generalities as is possible here.
