This story is very similar to Jameis Winston's rape accusations. The accuser is suing FSU for not doing their do diligence and alleging they are covering it up.

This story is similar - Brian Banks, All American Football Star who spent 5 years in jail, for being falsely accused of rape. Only after the woman who accused him was caught saying she made it up, was his case over-turned.

She was ordered to repay monies from the settlement along with interest. My question is, *why* isn't she going to jail? I guess he could sue her from defamation of character, etc.? How is lying about rape not equivalent to rape itself? Lying does two things:

1) Destroys the accused's life
2) Places doubt on future legitimate instances of sexual assault

Women who make false accusations of rape should face the same amount of jail time that the man would have got if convicted.

She should be doing a prison sentence equal to the maximum sentence he COULD have received. Rapists are disgusting criminals. Those that make false accusations of rape are worse.

The thundering herd of feminists would argue that giving her jail time would prevent actual victims from coming forward or some such nonsense.
