This is not my opinion, you can look at the performance of Republicans since they either held the White House (Bush/Cheney) or after that (presently) to see how this has changed since Clinton.

This is the "new normal" of the Republican Party. They truly are the enemy of Democracy, they would much rather have a Corporatocracy that only supports wealthy corporations, and they have convinced many of their poor white trash voters that this is a good thing. Serfdom is actually okay in the minds of Republican voters.

Government agencies that want to regulate food safety, air travel, auto safety, lakes and rivers, Federal lands and wildlife, and hundreds of other things should all be abolished. Let the "free market" take care of it.

"Corporations are people, my friend" said the last GOP candidate for President of the United States.
Except the average Republican voter is wealthier, not poorer, than the average Democratic voter (and, as an aside, if you presumably want someone to consider your candidates, calling them "trash" isn't the way to go). The average GOP voter is also probably a tad better educated, but those conservatives who hate education and intellectualism really need to shut up.

Back to where we disagree - abolishing government agencies that regulate food safety, air travel, auto safety, etc. is not a goal of mainstream Republicans or even most fairly far right ones. Please provide evidence to the contrary if you're going to make such an assertion.

In so far as Republican performance, please compare the recovery from the early 80s recession and that from the late 2000s recession. Also look at GDP and jobs growth numbers during recent periods when Congress was controlled by Republicans and Democrats. And do explain how Bush caused the late 2000s recession and how Clinton didn't cause the early 2000s recession if Bush caused the more recent one.

Buckle up!
Yeah, and 300 bills sitting on Reid's desk isn't dysfunctional. Yet he continues to blame it on the Kochs.

It's not because they don't agree with those bills. See, in their world, efficient government means a government doing what they want and stopping what they want. That's not a partisan government to them because they are arrogant enough to think they are entitled to exactly what they want all the time and anyone who gets in the way is their enemy, not that they have to work with the other side. Many tea party conservatives have the same view but at least they don't have quite the same level of arrogance about it.

Democrats just want someone else to pay for their free stuff; even if its their children future ruined doing it. They should be called the Greece party.

I'm always astounded by not only the amount of ignorance from people on the left, but also that they make such effort to run around and put it on display for others to verify.

Yes, this quite typically happens in the second term of a president. Pretty much expected as business as usual from a historical perspective.

Only leech-Dems have kids these days.

They likely envision their kids' future in terms of Loot available to Leeches.

The Democratic talking point has turned from

"Obama is different, hope and change, not like the rest"

to

"he's exactly like the rest"

True--when you look at the breakdown of the stats, the GOP will not have any kind of political capital or mandate. If they mistakenly have the hubris to believe they do (as GW did after 2006) they will quickly find out that the country is not with them in a big way. The polls reflect that voters favor republican control of congress by 1%, which is a much smaller percentage than in 2010 when it was 6%. Luckily for the Dems, the GOP has a lot of hubris.

Ahh but we dont legislate by Democratic means, we legislate by Representative Republic..

polls are meaningless, just like we seen when Democrats passed ACA..

The GOP wont get legislation passed, but it wont be because of a lack of effort, Obama will veto everything and then whine like he always does about bills not being passed.
