You know the new Senate does not start till January,2015. The house through thats the GOP.

Exactly correct ..... which is why Harry Reid can bring it up NOW if it is so important.
If Harry doesn't want to bring it before the Senate that he controls for the rest of the year - FINE.
No point in the GOP taking the fall for Obama's continued failures.

With the holidays and all the other current distractions it wouldn't surprise me if it takes that long anyway.

The Republican party, a majority at least, supports further action against ISIS. There is a minority, about 33% that opposes it, but the hawks will have their war.
