This couple should rot in jail for a few years. IMO, 21 months is not enough.

I got welfare when I was 18 or so, and I assure you it didnt harm me at all.

Unless you took the "short bus" to school, there is no reason why an able-bodied 18-year old should qualify for welfare. You have not even left the nest.

You know what we should do? Take ever government, and private organization where there has ever been abuse or corruption, and abolish it.

Honestly, what would be left?

Nothing new. Wealthy people get welfare all the time. Look at all the retired people who -- despite being the wealthiest segment of the population -- receive the most government benefits from the federal government via social security and medicare. "Average retired couple in the US take out 1/3 more in social security than they paid in." (Medicare and Social Security: What you paid compared with what you get | PolitiFact)

We provide welfare for the wealthy in many different ways. Everyone might as well game the system as best as they can at this point, since it's clear to anyone without their head in the sand that our current entitlement system is unsustainable. I really wonder how people sleep at night, knowing the future that they're condemning their children and grandchildren to.

The guy is an idiot and if true the Connecticut GOP should return the money, but since when does the GOP apparatus in Connecticut = Tea Party groups? He is a bad apple (like both parties have).

Does the Wyoming Democrat apparatus = Occupy Wall Street?

Do we really want to get into what most welfare people vote?

Here is the problem. No one stole your earnings any more than mine were stolen. As an adult that is being responsible you have accepted that the tax money you paid in will be used by our government as it sees fit.
Nothing has been stolen by our govt in regards to this subject. Remember just because you are a right winger then you are no better than anyone else. I can easily say that your tax portion went to build Federal hwys. You have no way of actually disputing that. Why right wingers act like childish dolts is beyond me.

I had two kids (twins), and was working part time. A job for which my commute by foot was 4 hours....each way for a month before moving closer. I was not being supported by family as I was unwilling to convince my girlfriend at the time to abort the twins. I was however signed up for the military, and awaiting my ship date.

Since I was unwilling to lie about leaving in a few months for basic, not many folks wanted to hire me other then the one part time job I had found.

So your assumptions that I was taking the "short bus" was wrong, your assumption that I had not left the nest was wrong. I find it fascinating how so many people assume the worst about folks.

Democrats have nothing to offer besides government dependency and class warfare, so they chose this route.

Have you forgot what happened to our economy just before Obama took office?
