I would still not want a pit bull because I would be afraid of being sued if the dog bit someone.

Once the scourge of the dog population, pit bulls are being slowly welcomed back, with communities across the country loosening their leashes and overturning bans on what USA Today says was once "America's most vilified pet." Since June alone, nine Midwest communities have struck down mixed-breed restrictions spurred in the '80s by an uptick in fatal dog bites.

Good!

It is no different than racial profiling and it is wrong.

Agreed. MOST Pits would lick you to death than bite you to death. Tho maybe it's because the knuckleheads are getting away from that breed, kinda like Dobermans and Rotties were the "bad ass" breeds maybe 30 years ago but now are "just" dogs.

BSL is kind of ridiculous anyway, there are so many "bull" breeds most people can't tell them apart anyway.

The brindle male pit bulldog I had, would help you steal everything out of my house.
Kids could ride, tug, hit and nothing but a big tongue to clean their faces.

Now another male dog his size or bigger... That was a problem. He was going to F*k it or fight it.

Too cute.

It's about time they got rid of BSL--and have vicious dog laws that are NOT breed-specific, but geared to individual animals.

Sounds like young males of any kind ..... Couldn't resist

I would say this describes most dominant male dogs. All of my male shepherds have been gentle giants, until another male enters the picture.

I would say it is more the owner you should confront. I had to do this with a young kid, he looked at me like I was crazy. At least if something happens he can't say he wasn't warned. His dog will more likely tangle with something more wild than he is. The dog is a year old, cute, full of life, running off leash and no fenced yard. What would someone expect of the dog, owner responsibility is where it lies.

Dogs are comparable to foxes and wolves when left untrained humans need to train the dog to stay home.
