Even though Obama provides Transformational leadership, old habits die hard!

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is prescribing time and vigilance to tackle problems as entrenched in American society as racism and bias.

He also is urging patience, saying progress usually comes in small steps.

In an interview with BET, the president described his conversation with a group of young civil rights activists, including a leader of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, he hosted last week in the Oval Office.

Obama said he told them that "this is something that is deeply rooted in our society, it's deeply rooted in our history."

America has made gains, and that "gives us hope" of making more progress, he said.

As long as the civil rights movement provides political power and financial largess for the "leadership", there will be racism, stirred up by those who profit from it. The money is in the problem, never the solutions.

He must be talking blacks again as usual. Asian and Hispanics citizens have done very well from concentrating on the real goals that are important.

Racism in America is complex.

Race can play itself out differently in different regions and professions. This is why people shouldn't assume that Obama becoming president is going to translate to less racism/bias in other professions. I mean, are blacks going to have an easier time moving up in corporate America because Obama is president? Will we see more black head coaches in college football because Obama is president? Again race plays itself out in it's own particular ways in corporate America and big school college football. As far as regions. Race in Chicago can be something different than what it is in NYC and race in L.A may be something different than what it is in San Francisco etc. So tackling racism in America is going to come down to putting in place the best solutions based on professions and regions.

When the masses of blacks defend thugs and rioters and looters , it is no wonder that whites as well as blacks are disgusted with the black race.. the blacks never condemn the criminal acts that the black race ignores as they push for better race relations. Totally insane behavior.

Obama: America's 'Deeply Rooted' Racism Will Take Time To Tackle
MANY of the things that have happened as of late, is not due to racism. However, when racism becomes the battle cry, it ends up CAUSING racism, not reducing real racism. The more he cries racism, the more he causes.

Obama is one of the most recent people out there. He should know of what he speaks.

Calling someone racist or accusing him or her of racism is a mechanism to stifle rather than encourage debate.
